Viewing walkthroughs

On a game entry page, click the Walkthroughs tab at the top to see all published walkthroughs for that game.

Each walkthrough shows its author, language, number of routes and update time. After choosing a walkthrough, you can read its notes and switch between its routes; every step of a route, and the points at which to save and load, are listed in order.

Writing a walkthrough

On the walkthroughs tab, click the Write a walkthrough button (sign-in required) to open the writing page. Each user can write one walkthrough for each game; if you have already written one, the button becomes Edit my walkthrough.

A walkthrough has two parts:

  • Notes — optional; used to introduce the recommended route order, points to note and so on; supports bold, spoilers and links
  • Routes — a walkthrough can contain multiple routes, and each route has the following:
    • Route name — required
    • Characters — optional; choose the characters this route corresponds to from the characters of the game
    • Condition — optional; you can specify the routes that must be finished first, or enter another condition
    • Steps — one step per line; enter at least one step
    • Ending — optional

The following notations can be used in the steps:

NotationMeaning
SAVE 1Save to slot 1 here
LOAD 1Load the save in slot 1
A line that starts with # or ※, or a line that ends with ENDA note
Choice text | remarkThe text after | becomes the remark of this step

The Preview beside the steps shows, as you type, how the walkthrough will actually look; on a narrow screen, switch between Edit and Preview instead. Drag the routes to change their order.

When you have finished writing, you can choose Save draft or Publish.

Draft and published

ActionStatusVisibility
Save draftDraftVisible only to yourself
PublishPublishedVisible to everyone

A walkthrough in draft status shows a Draft mark and is visible only to you. You can come back at any time to continue editing and publish it; a published walkthrough can also be withdrawn through Back to draft.

Editing a walkthrough

The author of a walkthrough can edit it at any time: click Edit my walkthrough on the walkthroughs tab of the game, or open it from the walkthrough list on your profile.

After editing, you can likewise choose to save it as a draft or publish it again, and the update time of the walkthrough changes accordingly.

Review

After you click Publish, the walkthrough does not become publicly visible at once. It first enters the Under review status, in which the system reviews the content automatically.

Once the review passes, the walkthrough's status changes to published automatically and it becomes visible to everyone. If the review does not pass, the walkthrough shows Not approved and stays hidden, and the author receives a system message explaining why it did not pass.

Normally, the review completes within a short time after publishing. If a walkthrough stays in the "Under review" status for a long time, you can contact an administrator.

Deleting a walkthrough

Choose Delete walkthrough in the menu on the writing page and confirm to delete the walkthrough permanently. This action cannot be undone.

Viewing walkthroughs on a profile

Visit your profile and switch to the Walkthroughs tab to see all the walkthroughs you have written. Each entry shows the game it belongs to, the number of routes and the update time, and walkthroughs that are drafts or under review carry a status mark.

When you visit the walkthroughs page of someone else's profile, you can see only the walkthroughs they have published.
