木ノ下祐介（主人公）は、父親である泰夫と一つの賭けをしていた。 それは期末試験で赤点がなかったら夏休みに悪友の江口大介と行くナンパ旅行の費用を全額負担して貰える、そうでなければ父親の営むファミレス店「Piaキャロット」で夏休みの間、ずっとバイトをし続ける、というものだった。 結果、祐介は赤点を取ってしまい、旅行はとん挫し、人生の中で最も貴重な時間をバイト漬けになってしまった。 敗北感に打ちひしがれる祐介だったが、そんな不幸を吹き飛ばすような、とびきりの出会いが待っていた。 それは祐介の熱い夏の始まりだった……。

主人公「神無月明彦」はPiaキャロット本店でバイトをしている受験生。学園生活最後の夏休みを迎えようとしていた7月のある日、本店のオーナーに呼び出される。そこで8月に新規オープンするPiaキャロット4号店の夏季限定ヘルプを相談される。 最初は乗り気ではなかった明彦だが、同僚の「高井さやか」に相談した結果、4号店のヘルプを承諾する。4号店には各店舗から経験者が集まり、明彦は本店代表として8月の1ヶ月間、寮に住み込みのバイトをすることになる。 新しい4号店で様々な人と出会い、そして、1ヶ月後にはどんな思い出が心に刻まれているのだろうか。
